It's o-vah!

Hmm I seem to somewhat recall having posted under this title before.... nevertheless, it's over! Oddly enough though, I never really felt very much under pressure this entire term, let alone the exam period. Of course there were the occasional days of extreme distress or near-seizures, but generally the term's been much more relaxed than the previous. Of course, my grades won't come anywhere near last term's, so there's a tradeoff I guess.

Anyway, enough about school! On to our very nice 4 MONTH summer hols! Ok, that's not very accurate. It's more like... 4 MONTHS AND 3 DAYS. Heh. Can't imagine though that I've more or less packed out my summer already, and none of that comes from work :P. Either way, if anyone has some exciting (and preferably, cheap) holiday plans, feel free to invite me! You know you want to! Just make sure it's nice and far away and won't be too crowded with Singaporeans. Bloody Singaporeans.

So the other day, I was on the train when this quite elderly caucasian guy got on. Being the only one without Singaporean ethic around, I of course stood up to offer him my seat. Too bad by then he'd turned and his back was facing me. So I went to him and tapped him on his shoulder and said "excuse me". No response. Repeat on other shoulder. No respone. I must've tapped him 5 times (and raised my voice a little, too) before he finally reacted. Poor old dude.

Ok that wasn't very anecdotal or funny at all. But anyway my point is, bloody Singaporeans.

So, much cycling is in order for the holidays ahead - if only Singapore had drivers (and roads) who are as considerate to cyclists as they are in Europe (or even Malaysia). Cycling on the roads in Singapore really is quite hateful, with the average cyclist having to go into battle with a couple of cabs or buses everytime he goes on the roads. Which of course, is why many cyclists resort to doing their rides at unearthly hours. Of course, my grief at Singaporean drivers doesn't just stem from being a cyclist - take a drive along the roads and you're bound to encounter some selfish hog or competitive Chinaman (Singapore-bred) who cuts you off just so he can get to Chinatown Square 2 minutes earlier.

To be fair to Singaporeans, though, the Chinamen (China-bred) are quite a bit worse (it is, after all, where our roots stem from. Hur. Roots. Stem.). But anyway my point is, bloody Singaporeans.

Poor Kopitiam stall operators over at SMU. They're really gonna have to close shop for 4 months (and 3 days). School's gonna be pretty much a ghost town - one wonders where they're gonna get their income from.
