Well well.

I swear I'd thought of something to write about. Can't seem to remember what it is now though...

Anyway, for the few who I haven't whined to already, the kind souls who have decided to pay for my education have also decided to veto my choice in laptops. No, not my parents. SMU has decided that they'll only reimburse me my money if I buy one of their tender models. Which really means that I'll either have to buy a dinky little tablet which half the school already has, or I'll have to use a black box as a laptop. Yes, a black box, with the letters "IBM" stencilled in very neatly and more importantly, boringly, on the top corner. Well no disrespect intended, but for a college that advertises its different-ness, we certainly aren't given much opportunity to be different in our choice of laptops! But well, I can understand the rationale lah. It's just not very agreeable with me.

And I really question the wisdom of the above rant. I haven't really had much of a point to put across. And you know what happens to rebellious scholars.

Scholar. I'm not used to describing myself that way. Who'd have thought eh, Weiming, Lord of All That is Slothlike and Unmoving, Scholar. Rejected by all, but somehow given a chance by one. Who'd have thought, indeed.

Ah, also, today during a potluck session a previously unheard of brand (at least to me) of ice cream was brought along. Westerners, you are a lucky bunch. The Daily Scoop really does make some more than decent ice cream at $13.50 per 700ml tub. Since I'd had a lot to eat for dinner already, when the ice cream came out I told myself I'd eat only a half scoop of each flavour (Simply Chocolate and Rum & Raisin). I promptly inhaled about 2 scoops of each flavour though. It's at Clementi, apparently, but they do free home deliveries for orders above $50! And we all know, that's really a very small amount, considering the kind of history I've had with ice cream.

And since you weren't at the potluck, I'll have you know that you missed the best mushroom pork chops I've ever made. I've also only made mushroom pork chops once, but at least, this time no one complimented me on the "chicken" I cooked. By the way Trini, this is why you don't get anymore free food delivered to NTU.

Oh, lastly, everyone who shares my taste in music, you MUST check out Vienna Teng. She is awe-haw-some. She gets one less haw than Corrinne May though. But still, awesome in her own right. Pet, I know you'll like her.
