the happiest man in the world
that's me, for now at least. why? because i've finally got my hands on 2 of the BEST EVER CDs (well not technically since i downloaded em, but i'm ordering them off amazon too, so if you want to be all technical and all...). i might a bit presumptious in assuming this, but pet, you're so gonna beg me for these.
first up...

if you think The Simpsons are funny, you obviously haven't watched Family Guy yet. a few samples of lyrics from the soundtrack...
Patty Lepont (sp?) : What do you have to say for yourself you slime?
Glen Quagmire : Can I just squeeze your left titty a little bit?
Patty : You're the most insensitive men I've ever met.
Quagmire : Aw that's not true I've got feelings just like the next guy. Last week my Grandma died I was really upset.
Patty : Oh, I'm sorry.
Quagmire : So how about a handjob?
At the end of a duet by Stewie and Brian,
Person in the Crowd : I love you Stewie!
Stewie : Good.
it's a reaaal classic, from a great show. and it doesn't hold back on its somewhat anti-semitic, anti-asian, anti-black, anti-gay and anti-everyone jokes. what other show gets cancelled (by FOX, who else) and then gets brought back because its DVD sales are so astounding? and if you don't find the above excerpts funny, it's because it just isn't as funny when you're reading it rather than hearing it, as is the case with the next absolute classic...
a coupla weeks ago i mentioned how i'd kill for Monty Python's Spamalot to make its way down to singapore. well it doesn't look like doing that any time in my life, so i got the next best thing:

now THIS is an absolute GEM of a CD. i nearly die laughing everytime i hear the Laker Girls Cheer, and He is Not Dead Yet, The Song That Goes Like This and His Name is Lancelot, among others, are quite simply, too funny. Monty Python really doesn't need a picture to it to crack me up, you really can imagine the entire scene just listening to their music. i won't even go on praising the cast, the list is endless. oh what the heck, Tim Curry, Hank Azaria (as a gay Lancelot, no less!) and Sara Ramirez are simple amazing, and i haven't even seen them acting yet!
i'm not gonna put any quotes from this cd here, because quite simply i wouldn't be doing it any justice! when they said this would be a remake (sort of) of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, i wasn't so optimistic (i'd really hoped for a remake of Life of Brian), but it sounds absolutely fabulous.
OK, enough gushing. i really felt a bit dumb on the bus today, breaking out into subdued guffaws and smiling idiotically to myself. but believe me, looking like an idiot was well worth it.
