The Corporation

if you missed this last week on central, do try and catch it somehow. it's an excellent documentary really, and will confirm many of your suspicions of multinational corporations. sometimes we just can't help but be consumers of their products, but it's really disgusting how people can be paid as little as US$0.03 an hour for making handbags.

on another note during the show i wondered there're never any demonstrations in singapore. no one ever bothers to air their views, and some who bother just get thrown in the lockup. i think it's because singaporeans are either too scared of getting into trouble, or they're just too selfish and can't be bothered about anything other than their own welfare. it's definitely not because we're all happy, because i sure as hell know that's impossible. maybe some day we'll break out of this 'democracy' we live in and we'll be free to actually speak our minds freely without having to register for the right to, and then be censured anyway.
