the big two-one

well for those who aren't in the know, my 21st came and went, ever so quickly, just recently. and for those who're actually interested, here's what happened!

well anyway i spent my actual birthday alone, since everyone happened to be busy on that day and the other friend who i was supposed to go out with ended up drunk before i even saw him! so anyway my birthday began with a simple meal of brie and crackers, with a nice glass of shiraz to top it off. ok actually the shiraz wasn't so nice, since i'm not a big fan of shiraz.
my sad first meal as an adult
and then there was a mini-celebration with the family.

and on the next day it was time for friends and since i was really too lazy to get something going myself, good ol' xiaowen whipped something up for me with jane and i've got them to thank for the good time (xiaowen especially for the 'good time' after dinner). so it was really a cozy bunch, at brewerkz.

tammy and kiat were there too, but late (as usual!).
erm, xiaowen.

later on we headed off to wala's and well the rest is erm, not so happy ;). but anyway thanks to the whole bunch who made it possible, jane trini jac dong hongying ping for my nice shirt (which i almost couldn't get out of when i tried it on!); yuchang kenneth cj max for my itrip; my sis who knows the 3 keys to my heart, chocolate, chocolate and chocolate. ok fine it's actually chocolate, ice cream and denise keller, but i've already got lots of ice cream and denise keller's, well, unattainable. and xiaowen dmc and whoever else for the present which is supposed to materialise sometime.

anyway i got myself a present too, lance armstrong's autobiography, and i really think it's the best thing i've bought myself in ages. i finished the book in 2 days, and it's really a heck of a story. he's always been my number one idol and to me, the epitome of everything that a sportsman should be. but after reading the book, the human side of his life hit me, and i respect him way, way more as a person now. his book's an inspiration to all, and a definite recommendation for an inspirational read.

so anyway here's the rest of the photos, plus a photo from jac's birthday thing where everyone looks really nice except sharon who seems to be doing her best imitation of marshmallow man, but somehow still manages to look good. i've never been able to master that art, looking like marshmallow man.
the rest of the photos i'll upload soon, but only ahem, selected photos will be uploaded though.
