so the past 2 days were spent at an unexpectedly lavish bungalow in the middle of pasir ris (for once! in the east!), celebrating trini's soon-to-come 21st birthday. when trini described the place to be a house in pasir ris, what i expected was a small little chalet where 40 people would be squeezing in for a night. imagine my surprise when i reached the place and was greeted with this sight.

ok just kidding but i'm being perfectly honest when i say that the house was way bigger than i'd imagined, and i think the same goes for everyone else who came down!

anyway on the first day it was just a small group of us

and

went down to fisherman's village for a 'budget' dinner, but as expected with trini around we were always going to be ordering a huge meal.

and of course, with 4 people and a house, mahjong is inevitable. and this is when the suay-est moment of my life so far happens (of course this is just a hyperbole, the suay-est moment of my life was when i met trini)

check it out, after getting man3 tai2 from all my animals and flowers i was looking to hu2, when i realised, i had a xiao3 xiang4 gong4. imagine the amount of money that cost me! once again, this contributed to another losing day of mahjong. my luck and my brother's luck must be tied together somehow, but not to worry, soon we will both train up and become the mahjong mings. and even if that doesnt happen, there's always next week's big sweep/toto/4d.

anyway, in the house we also discovered the phenomenon of the magically slimming door. it's a door that slims you down automatically when you walk through it! no need for slim wraps or extrim or liposuction, this one does it for you. check out what it did to jane!

of course though sometimes the task at hand is a little difficult so results will vary with individuals

anyway the rest of the bbq went great and at the end of the day it was 3 days (day before chalet was a sleepless one too) of very little sleep for me and the eyebags grew. but all in all it was a great time we all had. so heres a big thanks and happy birthday to the big birthday girl!

ok lah. feel a little bad after insulting trini so much with words and bad photos, even on her birthday. so here's a nice photo of trini koh and her birthday cake.
